Global mobility platform inDrive has expanded its services across Zimbabwe, introducing intercity offerings, a move that is likely to impact car hire operations.

The ride hailing services is now available in Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, and Mutare.

A ride from Harare to Bvumba is recommended at US$123 while a ride to Bulawayo has the recommended price of $205. This is comparable to car hire that would be more than $500 for Bvumba and $1000 for Bulawayo.

In addition the company’s unique “name your price” model means that one can negotiate giving flexibility to both driver and passenger.

inDrive has also launched a courier service in Harare  which allows users to send packages.

inDrive’s says its expansion reflects its commitment to providing affordable and equitable mobility solutions and these new developments spell new income opportunities while contributing to economic growth in Zimbabwe.
