Agilitee Africa is inviting tertiary institutions across Africa to apply as partners in its EV scooter roll out.
“We are finally rolling this out in universities across Africa and we are calling out all interested varsities to partner with Agilitee in its quest on the expedition of the adoption of electric vehicles across the continent." announced Agilitee Africa Founder Dr Mandla Lamba recently.
He said that institutions need secure premises to qualify for the initiative.
“As a university or college, before you contact us, make sure that there will be safe parking space for the scooters as they will be parked at the universities after being used by students," he said.
Dr Lamba said students will be given lessons and don't need driver licenses for this vehicle type.
Agilitee introduced electric scooters to its Zimbabwean market mid-2022 and rides on affordability and payment flexibility through their pay as you ride option.
Founded in 2018, Agilitee Africa prides itself as “the first electric vehicle manufacturer and green tech company in the continent and a pioneer that is at the forefront of the 4th industrial revolution, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence and more importantly, green technology which is the immediate future.”
Zimbabwe is mulling an EV policy as it joins the rest of the world in exploring cleaner energy options.
