The Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology is set to hold its 3rd Graduation Ceremony on November 27, 2024, at the Marondera Campus. This milestone event marks a significant achievement for the university, which has made tremendous strides in embracing Education 5.0 and fostering innovation, industrialisation, and community engagement.
As one of the youngest state universities in Zimbabwe, MUAST has fully embraced Education 5.0, with a strong focus on innovation and industrialisation. The university's fully fledged Agro-Industrial Park is a testament to this commitment, providing students with hands-on experience and training in cutting-edge agricultural technologies.
MUAST is also deeply committed to community engagement, as demonstrated by the establishment of the Muchekeranwa Irrigation Scheme. This initiative directly benefits 48 households and serves as a training ground for surrounding farmers. Recently, 58 farmers from five surrounding communities, including 17 women and 41 men, received certificates from MUAST's training programmes.
These programmes covered the use of machinery, health and safety issues, and sustainable agriculture technologies such as Pfumvudza/Intwasa. Furthermore, MUAST has launched the African Indigenous Vegetable Seeds, including Amaranth and Spider Plant (Cleome Gynandra), which can be cultivated year-round.
The 3rd Graduation Ceremony will take place on November 27, 2024, at the Marondera Campus, located 3 km along Bridge Road. All graduands and guests are requested to be seated by 8:00 AM.
