Desire Muwazi, 21, has been arraigned before Magistrate Apollonia Marutya at the Harare Magistrates' Courts, facing charges of assault.
The State alleges that the incident occurred on December 1, 2024, at Town House, located at the corner of Jason Moyo Avenue and Julius Nyerere Way in Harare.
According to court records, Mutengwa Nyambisi, the informant in the case and a security guard on night duty at the premises, encountered a distressed complainant who was bleeding profusely from the mouth and claimed to have been assaulted by Muwazi.
During his routine perimeter checks, Nyambisi discovered Muwazi hiding in a flower bed on the eastern side of the Town House, near the kitchen area. Upon being confronted, Muwazi reportedly admitted to assaulting the complainant.
Nyambisi apprehended Muwazi and handed him over to Harare Central Police Station for further investigation.
The complainant, whose injuries were described as severe, is expected to testify as the case proceeds in court.
The matter remains under review as the court awaits further submissions from both the prosecution and defense.
