Zimbabwe's successful implementation of the Agriculture Mechanisation Programme has caught the attention of regional leaders, with a high-powered Nigerian delegation visiting the country to learn from its experiences. Led by Senator Abubakar Kyari, Nigeria's Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, the delegation toured the Bison Agro-Machinery Workshop in Harare, where they witnessed firsthand the impact of the multi-million-dollar facility on productivity and food security.

The delegation was impressed by the Zimbabwe-Belarus mechanisation deal, which has delivered over 2,000 agric-machinery units to Zimbabwe, boosting wheat production in the process. Belarus Ambassador to Zimbabwe, General Ihar Marshalau, expressed his country's willingness to implement a similar programme in Nigeria, highlighting the benefits of regional cooperation in achieving food security.

Senator Abubakar Kyari described the visit as an "eye-opener," praising Zimbabwe's giant leap in agriculture mechanisation. "We are a big nation, and to ensure food security, we need to follow the giant step Zimbabwe has taken with Belarus," he said.

The Zimbabwe-Belarus Mechanisation Facility has empowered thousands of farmers with state-of-the-art equipment, enabling them to increase food production and contribute to national food security. This milestone underscores Zimbabwe's commitment to modernising its agriculture sector and ensuring sustainable food production.
