Zhombe sex worker bitten by snake while on the job in the bush

A sex worker from Zhombe was bitten by a snake while servicing a client.

The unnamed woman is recovering in hospital.

Bush sex is common in the rural areas where lodges are few and unaffordable for the majority.

Zimbabwe has a number of venomous snakes and snake bites are also fairly common in farming communities and rural areas with deaths running into two digits annually.

A Hurungwe family lost three members to snake bites in September.
