A man accused of stealing US$3 500 from a complainant after observing him receive US$7 000, has appeared in court.
The accused, Enerst Majoni, 44, and Shame Bandamiri, 43, stood before magistrate Isheunesu Matova at the Harare Magistrates' Court facing theft charges.
They were remanded in custody.
Prosecutor Takudzwa Jambawu told the court that on October 19, in Kuwadzana 6, the complainant received US$7 000 in Majoni's presence and placed the money in the boot of his car.
Majoni allegedly persuaded the complainant to go for drinks at Lakers Night Club. While there, Majoni reportedly asked for the car keys, accessed the vehicle's boot, and stole US$3 500.
