A 19-year-old man appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Courts, charged with murder, after allegedly assaulting a man with a metal chain, resulting in his death.
Witmore Nyamadzawo is accused of being part of a trio responsible for the fatal attack. He is set to reappear in court on January 23, 2025.
Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi told the court that on January 13, 2022, at around 3:00 am, Nyamadzawo, along with his accomplices, Prosper Chijaka and Mike Kholowa, attacked the now deceased at Budiriro 5 Current Shops.
The victim was struck with a metal chain on the left side of his head and multiple times across his body. He sustained severe head injuries, bruises on his left shoulder, and injuries to both legs.
The assault led to his death on the same day.
