In Zvishavane, a small but ambitious football academy has quietly established itself as a breeding ground for top-tier talent.
Pams Academy, owned and coached by Brighton Pamhirwa, has become a trusted source of quality players for both Premier Soccer League and Division One teams across Zimbabwe.
Over the years, the academy has produced a significant number of footballers who have gone on to sign with professional clubs—a testament to the dedication and expertise of Coach Pamhirwa.
A closer look at the players who have come through Pams Academy and secured contracts in the PSL highlights the institution’s impact. Among them is Thubelihle Jubani, who initially played for Sheasham and Manica Diamonds before making his move to FC Platinum. Kwekwe United also benefited from the academy’s talent pool, signing Tafadzwa Mzenda.
Triangle United welcomed Menford Mudzimu, while Bikita Minerals acquired Takunda Manyuchi, Desire Huwani, and Gerald Banda. Meanwhile, Arthur Sibanda and Timukudzei Njelele are on the verge of joining Kwekwe United, further cementing Pams Academy’s role in shaping professional footballers.
Beyond the PSL, Coach Pamhirwa’s influence extends to Division One, where several of his former players have secured contracts.
Hwange signed Peter Mushure, Kudakwashe Mangena, and Mannered Gumbo, while Wangu Mazodze acquired the services of Godknows Sithole and Mathew Peter Tembo. Ladicious Chinhara found a home at Ngezi Juniors, while Shabanie Mine strengthened their squad with Inos Joy Mika, Leonel Chisunga, and Tadiwa Madzokere.
FC Platinum Under-19 also recognized the quality of players from Pams Academy, signing promising youngster Keith Zhou.
The success of these players is no coincidence. It is the result of years of hard work, dedication, and a well-structured training program at Pams Academy. The institution focuses not only on technical skills but also on discipline, game intelligence, and physical conditioning, ensuring that its players are well-equipped for the demands of professional football.
Looking ahead, the academy continues to nurture young talent, with a new generation of players showing great potential. Goalkeeper Tadiwa Mutonga, defenders Moses Zhirayarwo, Prince Gumbo, and Honest Timire, along with midfielders Junior Chaanoda, Beloved Sibanda, and Ndumiso Nyoni, are among the rising stars expected to make their mark in the near future.
These youngsters, alongside others like Archford Mudzimu, Blessing Tsindi, and Phenomenon Manaira, are already catching the attention of clubs looking for the next big thing in Zimbabwean football.
Coach Pamhirwa’s ability to consistently produce professional-level players speaks volumes about his coaching philosophy and the effectiveness of his academy’s training system.
His impact on Zimbabwean football is undeniable, and as more players from Pams Academy secure contracts at the highest level, the institution is rapidly earning a reputation as one of the country’s finest football development centers.
