A fresh chapter has begun for Zimbabwean football, as the newly-elected Zimbabwe Football Association (Executive Committee vows to restore integrity and propel the sport to unprecedented heights. Led by the dynamic Nqobile Magwizi, the new leadership team convened with the Sport and Recreation Commission (SRC) in Harare, outlining their vision for a brighter football future.

Transparency, accountability, and corporate governance are the cornerstones of the new administration's strategy. "We aim to establish an institution that is open, transparent, and accountable to all stakeholders," Magwizi declared. "Our goal is to create a lasting legacy that will outlive our tenure, providing a solid foundation for future generations to build upon."

The SRC, led by chairperson Gerald Mlotshwa, welcomed the new board and emphasized the importance of prioritizing player welfare. "As the governing body, your primary focus should be on creating a conducive environment for our athletes to thrive," Mlotshwa urged. "The players, captains, and coaches are the lifeblood of the sport; it's your duty to provide them with the necessary support and resources to excel."

The Magwizi-led board has hit the ground running, already initiating an audit of the association's accounts and bolstering various committees to oversee the sport's development. A roadmap outlining their strategic plan will be presented to the congress at an upcoming Extra-ordinary General Meeting (EGM), followed by a comprehensive football indaba open to all stakeholders.

As the new leadership team embarks on this transformative journey, the SRC facilitated a tour of the National Sports Stadium, highlighting the current state of affairs and potential areas for improvement. The ZIFA Village was also showcased, providing a glimpse into the association's existing infrastructure.
