Supporters of MWOS FC who believed the club had promised an extravagant reward for beating Scottland FC in their Matchday 14 clash are now learning the truth,  the promise was never meant to be fulfilled.

In the build up to the heated rivalry match, social media was flooded with posts claiming the club would send the entire playing squad, technical team, and support staff on an all expenses paid shopping trip to the United Arab Emirates. Each member, the posts said, would also receive US$2,500  but only if they secured a victory over their bitter rivals.

The announcement caught the attention of fans and football followers alike, many of whom praised the club for what appeared to be a bold motivational gesture. But behind the scenes, it was a different story.

According to a source within the team, the promise was never real.

“That promise was just made for social media to boost confidence and excitement,” the insider revealed. “As players, we were never told about any trip or bonus. We actually found out about it the same way the fans did online.”

The source said the squad was surprised to see the announcement spreading, and there was no mention of the reward in team meetings or official communication from the club.
