Two new deputy ministers have been appointed to take up their portfolios with immediate effect, according to a statement by the Office of the President and Cabinet.
Honourable Caleb Makwiranzou, M.P., has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development. His responsibilities will include overseeing Oil and Gas Research as well as other Strategic Minerals Exploration.
Additionally, Honourable Albert Tawanda Mavunga, M.P., has been named Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works. He will be responsible for Local Authorities and Traditional Leadership, ensuring effective administration and governance at the grassroots level.
Both appointments were confirmed through an official statement issued by Dr. Martin Rushwaya, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, dated February 13, 2025.
