Delta Corporation, a leading beverages company in Zimbabwe, has played a significant role in supporting education through its Schools Assistance Program. Over the past 25 years, the company has contributed to improving learning environments across multiple provinces by funding the construction of classrooms and other essential facilities. This initiative aligns with Delta’s broader corporate social responsibility goals, emphasizing its dedication to empowering future generations.
The Delta Schools Assistance Program has benefited primary schools across various provinces in Zimbabwe. Among the recipients of this initiative are Tschongogwe Primary School, Siyachilaba Primary School, and Mucklenuck Primary School in Matabeleland North Province. In Matabeleland South, the program has assisted Simpane Primary School and Fairview Primary School. Schools in the Midlands Province that have benefited include Kushinga Primary School, St. Faith Munyamana Primary School, and Mudzengi Primary School. The program has also extended its support to Masvingo Province, where Shonganiso Primary School and Chihambakwe Primary School have received assistance. Manicaland Province has seen contributions to Nehumba Primary School, Rukangare Primary School, and Mutsamvu Primary School. In Mashonaland West Province, Mamvuramachena Primary School, Muchedza Primary School, and Cheuchi Primary School have benefited, while Magamba Primary School, Murongwe Primary School, and Sanya Primary School in Mashonaland Central Province have also been supported. Additionally, Nyamakuyo Primary School in Mashonaland East Province has received aid through the initiative.
In a recent milestone, Delta Corporation commissioned two fully furnished classroom blocks and ablution facilities at Mudzengi Primary School in Chirumanzu District, Midlands Province. The handover ceremony, officiated by the Minister of State for Midlands Province, Honourable Owen Ncube, took place on March 10, 2025. Patricia Murambinda, General Manager of Corporate Affairs at Delta Corporation, emphasized the company’s dedication to educational development by stating, “This significant investment in education infrastructure is part of Delta’s commitment to giving back to the community and promoting academic excellence.”
The newly constructed classrooms are designed to enhance the learning experience, featuring modern amenities and furniture. This initiative is part of Delta’s long-term strategy, in which a block of two classrooms has been commissioned annually for the past 25 years. The School Head, Mr. Serere, expressed gratitude for Delta’s contributions, acknowledging their impact on the school community. Murambinda reiterated Delta’s corporate responsibility, stating, “As a responsible corporate citizen, we recognize the importance of education in shaping the future of our nation, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote academic excellence.”
The Delta Schools Assistance Program has positively impacted over twenty schools across eight provinces. Through the construction of classroom blocks, ablution facilities, and the provision of furniture, the initiative has significantly improved learning conditions in rural and underprivileged communities. The company’s annual commissioning of school infrastructure projects highlights its sustained commitment to enhancing the education sector.
