Zimdancehall artist Silent Killer efusing to board his flight to the UK. According to Fred Matenga of Y2K Promotions, the artist's promoter, Silent Killer missed his initial flight, prompting Matenga to book another ticket. However, the artist failed to board the second flight as well.
Matenga revealed that Silent Killer claimed to have had a dream that the plane would explode, which led him to lock himself in an airport toilet, avoiding his flight. This unusual behavior has raised concerns about the artist's mental health.
Despite Silent Killer's absence, other prominent Zimbabwean artists made it to the festival. Alick Macheso and Mambo Dhuterere were among the headlining acts that arrived safely in Leicester ahead of the event. Other performers include Blot, Voltz JT,Nisha T,DJ Sab and Father Ansy
Matenga has expressed concern over Silent Killer's behavior and encouraged him to seek professional rehabilitation and mental health support. The promoter's response highlights the importance of prioritizing mental well-being, especially in high-pressure industries like music.
The UK SAMA Festival 2025 aims to celebrate Zimbabwean music and culture, featuring a lineup of talented local artists. Despite the last-minute absence of Silent Killer, the festival is expected to go ahead, showcasing the rich musical heritage of Zimbabwe.
