A Zimbabwean care worker in the United Kingdom, Moreblessing Mundoza, has launched a public appeal for financial assistance to repatriate the body of her late husband, Wellington "Pablo" Nyakabau, who died suddenly from a brain hemorrhage.
Mundoza tells the story in her fundraising appeal:
"My name is Moreblessing, and I recently moved to the UK under a Certificate of Sponsorship, full of hope for a new beginning. Shortly after settling in Leicester, my beloved husband, Wellington ‘Pablo' Nyakabau, joined me. We were ready to build our new life together. But in an unimaginable twist of fate, Pablo suffered a devastating brain hemorrhage on his way from the gym and passed away,” she says.
Mundoza goes on to appeal for donations of any amount.
"I am now facing the heartbreaking task of taking my husband back home to Zimbabwe, to lay him to rest among his family, his ancestors, and his roots. Sadly, I do not have the financial means to do this on my own,” Mundoza says.
The appeal has begun gaining traction on social media, with many Zimbabweans and members of the diaspora community expressing their sympathy and solidarity with the grieving widow.
To support the campaign, donations can be made via the GoFundMe platform under the title "Help Repatriate Pablo to Zimbabwe."
