In a statement issued on 15 July 2025, ZACC spokesperson Ms. Simiso Mlevu reminded the public that roadblocks are part of the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s statutory mandate, and interfering with lawful searches is a criminal offense.
“Resisting lawful instructions from a peace officer is an offense,” Mlevu said.
Some major crimes uncovered at roadblocks in 2025

77 Benylin, 162 Adeo Salteryn, 44.5 Astrapane bottles

In a tacit implication that ZACC acknowledges the public’s frustration with corrupt officials and alludes to historic abuses of authority at roadblocks, Ms. Mlevu urged citizens to “refuse, resist, and report corruption” encountered at checkpoints.
