ZIFA has ordered am immediate suspension of all football activities being conducted by the Zimbabwe Football Federation for Amateur and Social Leagues (ZIFASOL), citing unauthorized operations and violations of football governance regulations.
ZIFA clarified that ZIFASOL’s application for membership was not approved. Despite the rejection, ZIFASOL has allegedly continued to organize football matches and training sessions at the area zone level without official sanction from the national governing body.
“It has come to the Association’s attention that ZIFASOL continues to organise football activities at the area zone level without the necessary authority,” the statement reads. “ZIFA reiterates that the organisation of area zone football is the exclusive mandate of ZIFA and its officially recognised members.”
ZIFA emphasized that no other entity is permitted to operate football structures outside its jurisdiction. The association expressed concern over ZIFASOL’s decision to independently conduct football training courses without any accreditation or approval.
“The public is therefore advised that any football training or education programmes conducted under ZIFASOL are not recognised and are hereby declared null and void,” ZIFA warned.
In line with its mission to uphold the statutes of football governance in Zimbabwe, ZIFA has ordered an immediate halt to all ZIFASOL-affiliated events and programmes. The association described ZIFASOL’s actions as “parallel administration of football,” which directly violates ZIFA regulations.
“All clubs and leagues previously affiliated with or participating in ZIFASOL competitions are directed to immediately align themselves with officially sanctioned ZIFA Area Zones structures,” ZIFA stated.
