Wife killer judge kills himself in church

Judge Evans Zinzombe who was wanted in connection with the murder of his wife committed suicide in a church, police have said.

“His body was found hanging from a metal roof truss at a local church in Cowdray Park,” said the police in a statement.

In their statement the police indicated that they are treating Zinzombe’s death as a suicide.

Zinzombe, 36, reportedly killed his wife Phelomina Mabika, 32, on Wednesday last week on December 7 at a house in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo.

The two were reportedly having marital disputes and were sleeping in separate rooms.

Zinzombe was alleged to have gone into the room where his wife was sleeping with the couple’s kids – a daughter aged 12 and a seven year old son.

He allegedly strangled Phelomina to death with his hands.

According to Police, he went on to rape her corpse in front of the children.

The the children reportedly spent the whole night in room they had witnessed the horrors, with the body.

A police report was made in the morning.
