The Zimbabwe Football Association has unveiled a new development agenda aimed at rebuilding the sport's foundation, led by its Head of Technical, Dominique Nyonzima.

The ZIFA began by reaffirming its commitment to "building a stronger foundation for the growth of football in the country, unveiling key priorities under the leadership of its Head of Technical, Dominique Nyonzima." The new Technical Director's role is defined as central to leading the national development program, with a focus on increasing player participation and strengthening coach education.
It candidly addressed the longstanding issues that have plagued Zimbabwean football. "ZIFA acknowledges historical challenges, including the absence of a formal long-term development plan, limited resources, and a lack of structured systems for youth leagues, scouting, coach education, and sports science." According to the statement, significant steps have already been taken, including the introduction of new coaching courses and the extension of the technical development plan to all provinces.
As part of the new agenda, the association will also launch youth competitions in all provinces starting in January and will seek to form partnerships with schools and academies to nurture new talent.
