The program follows a TIZ capacity needs assessment, which revealed significant skill gaps among healthcare workers.
According to TIZ, the training is “designed to address systemic weaknesses in public procurement, such as a lack of transparency, poor compliance with procedures, and limited digital literacy, which create opportunities for corruption and inefficiencies in the health sector.”
The training aims to equip healthcare practitioners with the skills needed to use the e-GP platform effectively. Its ultimate goal is to “minimise procurement-related corruption risks, enhance trust in public systems, and contribute to improved maternal health outcomes for women and communities across Zimbabwe.”
By strengthening accountability and promoting cost-effectiveness, the program is expected to ensure timely access to essential maternal health commodities.
