
Zifa have moved to comply with a long-standing FIFA directive to hold elections for all members and ensure every representative of all affiliates are democratically elected into Congress.
Despite spirited efforts by some cartels who were trying to resist facing their day at the polling booths, the Zifa electoral committee Monday unveiled an elections timetable to run in December.

This also means the Zifa executive committee, would have avoided sanctions and a severe reprimand from FIFA who ordered a reform of the association when appointing a Normalisation Committee for Zimbabwe in July 2023.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Electoral Committee wishes to inform all football stakeholders and the public that preparations for the 2025 ZIFA Members elections are now officially underway.
“This electoral process follows a directive from FIFA and the requirements of the ZIFA Statutes (adopted October 2024), which mandate that all ZIFA organs be constituted through democratic elections. The elections, guided by Article 12 paragraph 1 of the ZIFA Statutes, will cover executive committees for Men’s Regional Division One Leagues, Women’s Regional Division One Leagues, Men’s Provincial Leagues, Beach Soccer Football Association, Futsal Football Association and Area Zones.
“The decision to proceed with the elections arises from the need to fully comply with both the ZIFA Statutes and FIFA’s guidance, ensuring that football administration in Zimbabwe remains transparent, accountable, and representative of all its members,’’ read a notice on the elections roadmap issued by Zifa Electoral Committee chairperson, Moses Chigudu on Monday.
