Josephine Mutongi has been arrested in connection with the tragic incident in Kuwadzana Extension, where three children were found dead in the trunk of a car.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the development, stating:
“The ZRP confirms the arrest of Josephine Mutongi in connection with ongoing investigations. More details will be released tomorrow,” the statement read.

Mutongi, who has built a social media following, recently gained public attention following the tragedy, had organised a public march urging participants to wear white in solidarity with the affected families.
However, her actions drew widespread criticism after reports emerged that she allegedly collected cash donations from mourners during the funeral without the approval of the grieving families.
The controversy deepened when Mutongi later posted a video on social media claiming she was handing over the funds she had collected.
The gesture was met with mixed reactions, with many accusing her of exploiting the tragedy for publicity.
