Blessed Masango, 41, appeared before Harare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti charged with assaulting a police officer
“My senses returned to me after I had head-butted the officer as I didn’t mean to do that, I apologise,” Masango submitted.
“I was not in my right state of mind, and I did not mean to do all that to a police officer. It was just a simple misunderstanding.”
Masango claimed he was assaulted by some police officers while in custody.
According to the court papers, Masango was arrested for unlawful entry at Goodhope on December 31 along Harare Drive at around 5:20pm.
He was taken to Mabelreign Police Station, but along the way, Masango became violent, and head-butted the arresting officer, who was driving a police vehicle at the time, the court heard.
