PSL Confirms Rodwell Thabe as Chief Executive Officer

The Premier Soccer League has announced the appointment of Rodwell Thabe as its substantive Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 November 2025.

In a statement on Wednesday, 12 November, the PSL said Thabe’s appointment marks a key step in strengthening the league’s administrative structures and elevating the standards of professional football across Zimbabwe.

“Rodwell’s elevation follows a comprehensive, merit-based selection process aimed at identifying a leader with the strategic vision and capacity to guide the league through its next phase of growth and commercial expansion.

“Rodwell brings a wealth of institutional experience, having been with the Premier Soccer League since 2012.

“He holds a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, among other professional qualifications.

“Rodwell served with distinction as Acting CEO since February 2025, demonstrating exceptional leadership, professionalism, and a clear strategic focus. His tenure has been characterised by stability, decisive action, and tangible progress — essential qualities for the PSL’s organisational reform and sustainable growth.

“During his tenure as Acting CEO, Thabe was credited with several key achievements that contributed to the league’s improved profile and operational efficiency.”

The PSL Board of Governors and its Secretariat expressed their full support for Thabe, saying they look forward to a new era of professional excellence, financial stability, and competitive football under his leadership.
