Zimbabwe Karate Union Secretary General Tanaka Nyakuipa has been appointed World Ambassador for Zimbabwe by the United Countries Sports Management Council (UCSMC), taking on an international role focused on sports management, youth leadership and sports development.
The appointment places Nyakuipa in the UCSMC Global Ambassador Network, where she will contribute to promoting sports education, strengthening collaboration among sports professionals and institutions, and creating opportunities for young people through sport.
Nyakuipa’s journey into sports leadership combines a background in accounting, business and sports administration. She holds a BSc Honours degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and has completed ACCA Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications in Accounting and Business.
She has also pursued specialised training in sports management through the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee, including the Advanced Sport Management Course, while gaining knowledge in areas such as safeguarding, athlete welfare, sport psychology, event management and the prevention of competition manipulation.
Nyakuipa served as Treasurer of the Zimbabwe Karate Union from March 2023 until April 2026, when she was appointed Secretary General. She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Traditional Sports and Games Federation between February 2025 and April 2026.

Since October 2025, she has served as a Prevention of Competition Manipulation Ambassador and is also a Young Olympic Ambassador working with the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee.
Her growing involvement in international sport has seen her represent Zimbabwe at the African Women Martial Arts Leaders Programme in Uganda in 2025 and the 66th International Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors in Greece in 2026.
An active martial artist, Nyakuipa practises Kyokushin karate and kickboxing. Her experience in martial arts has shaped her interest in using sport to promote discipline, confidence, leadership and opportunities for young people.
She is particularly passionate about increasing opportunities for girls and young women in sport and promoting safe and inclusive sporting environments.
Nyakuipa said the UCSMC appointment provides an opportunity to connect Zimbabwe’s sporting community with international networks, exchange knowledge and contribute to the development of sports management and youth leadership.
With her new role, she hopes to use sport as a platform to connect, learn, empower and create opportunities for young people in Zimbabwe and beyond.
