Recruitment exercise message is fake: Police

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has dismissed a massive police recruitment message circulating on various social media platforms as fake.

In a statement national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said formal channels of communication will be used when such an exercise takes place, adding that the ZRP does not engage third parties to conduct recruitment on its behalf.

“Members of the public and all potential applicants are advised to ignore the fake message. The public should not submit application letters, life history, copies of identity documents and educational qualifications to anyone, third party or Officer-in-Charge of a police station on or before 07 May 2023, as alleged in the fake message,” said Ass Comm Nyathi in the statement.

He also said this was the work of unscrupulous individuals bent on duping innocent members of society of their money and the police have launched an investigation to establish the source of the message.
