Prophet Charged with Raping Congregant

A prophet dressed in traditional clergy attire, has appeared in court facing charges of raping a congregant.

He is accused of paying the victim to recruit new followers through fabricated prophecies.

Admire Manga, also known as Stalin, was remanded in custody after his Monday court appearance. He was granted bail of US$100 and is scheduled to return to court on December 1 for his trial.

The victim, a 41-year-old woman from Epworth, alleges that Manga paid her to bring people to his shrine in Retreat, Waterfalls. There, the recruits would pretend to receive prophecies, boosting Manga’s following and expanding his congregation.

Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi said the alleged incident occurred in October 2025. On the night in question, the victim had led a group of people from Epworth to the shrine as instructed.

Around 10 p.m., Manga reportedly called the woman to his parked vehicle nearby, handed her US$10 as partial payment, and promised the rest later.

Once inside the vehicle, Manga allegedly moved to the back seat where the victim was seated, forcibly held her down, silenced her by covering her mouth, and raped her without using protection.

After the assault, Manga reportedly threatened the woman, warning that he could make her disappear if she told anyone about the incident. He then allegedly ordered her to leave the vehicle and return to the shrine, keeping her torn clothing.

The victim later reported the incident to ZRP Waterfalls, leading to Manga’s arrest.
