“Kunzvi Dam reaches 69% completion. Water impoundment is underway. Once complete, it will store 158 million m³, strengthening water supply, irrigation and economic growth along the Harare–Goromonzi corridor,” the authority said.
The progress comes as Treasury moves to expedite the release of funds for the Kunzvi project, as well as for the Gwayi-Shangani Dam, another major national water infrastructure priority.
Government has previously identified both dams as critical to addressing chronic water shortages in Harare and Bulawayo, and to supporting agricultural and industrial expansion in their respective regions.
