35% pass rate in Zimsec O Level results, online access this Friday at 16:00hrs

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council  has released the 2025 November Ordinary Level examination results, with the national pass rate recorded at 35 percent, continuing a three year upward trend in performance.

Addressing journalists in Harare on Friday afternoon, Zimsec board chairperson Professor Paul Mapfumo said the results would be accessible online from 4pm on 16 January 2026 through the Zimsec portal.

“With effect from today, 16 January 2026 at 4pm, Ordinary Level examination results will be accessible to all candidates and authorised personnel online through the Zimsec portal,” said Prof Mapfumo.

He added that the portal would remain open for five days, after which schools would collect printed results from Zimsec regional offices.

“Heads of examination centres will be able to collect the results for their respective schools or centres from our regional offices on Monday,” Prof Mapfumo said.

The 35 percent pass rate marks a continuation of steady gains recorded since 2023, following years of disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, economic pressures, and resource constraints within the education system.

Zimsec said the gradual improvement reflects increased examination preparedness, curriculum stabilisation, and improved coordination between schools and education authorities, although challenges such as infrastructure gaps and staffing shortages remain.

Candidates and parents were urged to access results through official platforms only, as Zimsec warned against misinformation and unauthorised result distribution.
