Zimbabwe and Ghana are seeking to expand trade and investment cooperation as the two countries move to strengthen economic diplomacy and unlock new business opportunities.
The renewed push for economic collaboration was highlighted during Ghana’s 69th Independence Day commemorations in Harare, where officials from both countries emphasized the need to shift bilateral relations toward stronger commercial partnerships.
Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Amon Murwira said Harare was ready to deepen economic engagement with Ghana through structured bilateral mechanisms.
He said the upcoming Zimbabwe–Ghana Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation would create a platform for collaboration in sectors such as trade, tourism, mining, agriculture, education, science and technology.

Ghana’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe Bonaventure Adjavor said Ghana was implementing economic reforms aimed at improving investment opportunities and boosting productivity.
“These indicators demonstrate that Ghana is stable, mature and ready for business,” said Adjavor.
He highlighted reforms under President John Dramani Mahama including the Reset Agenda and the 24-Hour Economy Policy, which encourages businesses and institutions to operate in shifts to increase production and employment.
Zimbabwe also welcomed proposals to strengthen tourism and heritage partnerships, including a twinning arrangement between Cape Coast in Ghana and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, a move expected to boost tourism and attract members of the African diaspora.
