Delta Beverages has reaffirmed its commitment to youth development through sport, officially unveiling Sable Lager as the new lead sponsor of the Zimbabwe Tertiary Sports Association (ZITS) Annual Games.
Speaking at the official launch held in Harare on 28 April 2026, Delta Beverages Marketing Manager for Lagers, Kundayi Pamela Mawema, described the partnership as a celebration of youth, talent and national development.
Mawema highlighted that Delta Beverages has supported tertiary sport since 2018, initially through its Carling Black Label brand, before transitioning leadership of the sponsorship to Sable Lager.
“Our journey with Zimbabwe tertiary sports commenced in 2018 and, from 2019 to date, we have been the main sponsors of the Games. At this juncture, we are proud and very excited to introduce Sable Lager as the new leading brand for this coveted sponsorship,” she said.
She described Sable Lager as a modern addition to Delta’s portfolio, saying it reflects innovation and the aspirations of a new generation.
“Sable Lager is our youngest locally conceptualized and produced clear beer in the Delta lagers stable. It is expertly brewed from high-quality ingredients and delivers a balanced, smooth, and easy-drinking taste,” she said.
Mawema added that the values behind the brand align closely with the spirit of student sport and youth development.

“In the same way, we believe the young, modern generation of students we have today possess a unique opportunity to shape the future of our country when they come together on platforms such as these Games. For this reason, the partnership between Sable Lager and the ZITS Games fits perfectly,” she said.
Addressing participating athletes, she commended their dedication in balancing academics and sport.
“To the student athletes who will gather for the games; you embody ambition, resilience, and the drive to excel. The dedication it takes to balance academics with the demands of sport is no small feat, and we commend you for it,” she said.
She emphasised that the sponsorship goes beyond competition, focusing on experience, culture and connection among young people.
“Our partnership with these Games reflects our belief in investing in the generation of now, and our desire to create opportunities for young people to showcase their talent, express themselves, and connect with one another both on and off the field of play,” she said.
Mawema also promised an enhanced atmosphere around this year’s Games, with entertainment and social experiences complementing sporting action.
“We also believe in taking time to have fun, and this year, we are excited to elevate the experience even further. Beyond the competition on the field, Sable Lager will bring moments of connection, entertainment, and celebration that reflect the vibrant spirit of Zimbabwean youth culture,” she said.
