
A 24-year-old Glen View woman has been jailed for an effective nine months after she bit off part of her neighbour’s ear in a violent dispute.
Bridget Jengwa of Churu Farm appeared before the Mbare Magistrates’ Court, where she was convicted of assault following the incident involving a 21-year-old neighbour.
The court heard that on April 20, 2026, Jengwa confronted the complainant at her residence, accusing her of having an affair with her husband.
Efforts by the complainant’s mother to calm the situation were unsuccessful.

Jengwa then turned violent, striking the complainant with open hands before dragging her and biting off a portion of her right ear.
In the aftermath of the attack, Jengwa dropped the severed piece of the ear and fled the scene with her child, leaving the complainant bleeding heavily.
The victim sustained permanent disfigurement.
Jengwa was sentenced to 12 months in prison, with three months suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour, leaving her to serve an effective nine-month jail term.
