PetroTrade Fuel Attendant Inflated Sales Records, Costing Company Over US$3k

A former fuel attendant allegedly manipulated fuel sales records at two Petrotrade service stations over several months, resulting in losses exceeding US$3 000.

Investigations indicate that the first irregularities occurred at Petrotrade Warren Park Service Station between September 2 and December 14, 2025, when diesel sales were allegedly inflated by 721 litres and petrol sales by 891.72 litres.

The discrepancies reportedly prejudiced the company of US$2 419.38, with no funds recovered.

The second incident is said to have taken place at Petrotrade Skyline Service Station between December 24, 2025 and January 13, 2026, where fuel sales were allegedly overstated by 240 litres of diesel and 175 litres of petrol, resulting in losses of US$617.70.

A spot audit conducted on January 16, 2026 reportedly uncovered the Skyline discrepancies after auditors compared Petrocard system reports with physical drop sheets and computer driveway records.

Following the discovery, US$620 was reportedly reimbursed to the company and deposited into its bank account.

Investigations suggest that inflated figures were allegedly entered into both manual and electronic fuel sales records, allowing the discrepancies to go unnoticed until internal audits were carried out.
