Chicken Inn head coach Tonderai Ndiraya openly admitted that his side’s inability to defend set-pieces is costing them dearly as the Gamecocks prepare for the Scottland clash on Saturday.
The clash carries extra emotion for Ndiraya, who will come face-to-face with his former employers.
Despite Chicken Inn’s inconsistent start to the season, Ndiraya remains confident his side can rise to the occasion against one of the league’s strongest teams.
“Playing against a good team is always tough but we will fight and have those three points,” said Ndiraya.
However, the veteran coach did not hide his frustration over a defensive weakness that has haunted his team since the start of the campaign. Chicken Inn have repeatedly been punished from corner kicks and free kicks, a problem that resurfaced again in their defeat to FC Platinum last weekend.

“I am so frustrated with how we lose every time we lose a game. Conceding goals through corner kicks and free kicks, that has been our mistake,” he said.
With pressure mounting on the Gamecocks to turn around their fortunes, Ndiraya received a timely boost ahead of the Scottland battle after injured players returned to full fitness.
“I am glad to announce some of the boys are back and fit, which will give us more options,” he added.
Ndiraya’s history with Scottland adds even more intrigue to Saturday’s fixture. The experienced tactician guided the club to their second Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title in 2025 after previously winning his maiden championship with Simba Bhora in 2024.
Now, eyes will be on whether the former Scottland boss can outsmart his old club or whether Chicken Inn’s costly defensive lapses will once again come back to haunt them.
