
Government, United Nations agencies, development partners, civil society organisations and beneficiaries are meeting in Harare for the concluding workshop of the International Fund for Agricultural Development Country Strategy and Programme Evaluation, reviewing the impact of IFAD-supported programmes in Zimbabwe between 2016 and 2025.
The workshop is assessing outcomes, lessons learned and future priorities for cooperation between Zimbabwe and IFAD, with stakeholders reflecting on progress made in agriculture, rural livelihoods and food systems over the past decade.
Speaking at the meeting, Agriculture Minister Dr Anxious Masuka commended IFAD’s contribution to Zimbabwe’s agricultural development and reaffirmed Government’s commitment to continued collaboration.
“I commend IFAD’s impactful work in Zimbabwe. We look forward to continued collaboration,” said Dr Masuka during the evaluation session.

The review brings together Government ministries, UN agencies, development partners, civil society organisations, project staff and beneficiaries to evaluate programme performance and shape future interventions aligned with Zimbabwe’s agricultural transformation agenda.
IFAD has been one of Zimbabwe’s key agricultural development partners, supporting rural finance, irrigation rehabilitation, climate resilience, smallholder commercialisation and market access initiatives over the past decade.
The evaluation comes as Zimbabwe intensifies efforts to strengthen food security, climate adaptation and rural incomes under the National Development Strategy 2, amid increasing pressure from climate-related shocks and changing regional food systems.
