Highlanders Football Club has appointed an interim leadership team following the tragic road traffic accident that claimed the lives of club chairman Retired Colonel Kenneth Mhlophe, vice-chairman Sifiso Siziba and treasurer Nkani Khoza.
The appointments were made on Friday after an emergency meeting of the Highlanders board, chaired by board chairman Luke Mnkandla, to ensure the club continues to function during one of the most difficult periods in its history.

Board member responsible for technical affairs Kindman Ndlovu has been appointed acting chairman, while board member Elkanah Dube will oversee administration. Board secretary Matthew Sibindi has been assigned responsibility for the club's finances.
The appointments come a day after the three executives were killed in a road traffic accident while returning from Kariba, where Highlanders had honoured a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fixture against ZPC Kariba.
The crash occurred on Thursday evening, about 58 kilometres outside Bulawayo along the Bulawayo-Gweru Road. The accident also claimed the life of devoted Highlanders supporter Mbalenhle Sibanda, whose death has further deepened the grief within the Bosso family.
