Pamushana High School were crowned 2026 NASH Under-17 National Ball Games football champions after beating St Mathias Tsonzo 4-2 on penalties following a goalless draw in the final played in Bulawayo.
The two sides could not be separated after full time as both teams produced disciplined defensive displays in a tense championship decider. With the match ending 0-0, the title was decided through a penalty shootout.
Pamushana held their nerve from the spot to secure a 4-2 victory and lift one of the most prestigious trophies in Zimbabwean schools football.

The hero of the day was the school's 17 year old Young Warriors goalkeeper, who produced a match-winning performance by saving a crucial penalty before confidently converting one himself to inspire his team to victory.
The triumph marks another major achievement for the Bikita-based school, which has a rich football history stretching back decades. Pamushana, has long been recognised as one of Zimbabwe's football powerhouses and has consistently produced talented players who have gone on to play at the highest level.
The school previously won the national schools football title in 2007 and reached another national final in 2012. In 2018, Pamushana also won the Copa Coca-Cola national championship, underlining its reputation as a breeding ground for football talent.
Among the notable footballers who passed through Pamushana are former Highlanders striker Gabriel Nyoni, former Chicken Inn forward Marshal Marima and Takudzwa Chimwemwe.
