Balakasi Backs AMV Deal to Fuel AGAMA FC Survival Push

AGAMA FC captain Tinashe Balakasi says the club’s new partnership with AMV has lifted motivation and professionalism in the camp, giving the squad belief that they can still avoid relegation despite a 2-1 loss to 2025 champions Scottland.

Speaking after the defeat, Balakasi said his side were unfortunate not to take something from the game. “With a bit of luck we could have shared the spoils,” he said. He added that the focus has now shifted to turning the tables in the next fixture.

Since the partnership kicked in, Balakasi said players have felt the difference both on and off the pitch. “We’ve noticed better support around training gear, recovery, and communication with the club,” he said. “Knowing a solid partner like AMV is backing us makes you feel the club is building for the long term, not just surviving week to week.” As captain, he said it has made his job easier because the boys are more focused and understand that there is something bigger to play for.

Balakasi was clear that the backing will only count if it shows in performances. “You’ will get a fight in every game. The partnership doesn’t mean anything if we don’t match it on the pitch,” he said.

He expects AGAMA FC to be more organized defensively, sharper in transition, and mentally tougher, especially in matches where they have dropped points before. “My job is to make sure nobody hides and that we play for the badge and for each other,” he said, thanking Directors  George Padhula and Moyo for their support. “We thank you, keep supporting us we will make you happy end of the season.”

On survival, the captain remains optimistic. “Yes, it’s possible. The table is still tight and we’ve got enough games left to turn it around,” he said.

He pointed to recent games against teams around them as proof that AGAMA FC can compete, and said cutting out individual mistakes and taking chances in front of goal will decide their fate. “The partnership gives us belief, but survival will come down to how much we want it for the next 90 minutes, every week.”
