Africa Minerals Venture (AMV) and Agama Football Club have officially entered into a strategic partnership set to reshape the future of the Mt Darwin-based team, with both parties committing to investment, development, and long-term growth.
The agreement, which took effect on 5 May 2026, establishes a 50:50 shareholding structure between Africa Minerals Venture and Agama F.C. Stakeholders say the move marks the beginning of a new era focused on sustainability, professionalism, and high-performance football.
In a joint statement, the partners emphasized their commitment to preserving the club’s identity and deep-rooted community ties.
“Agama F.C will remain domiciled in Mt Darwin, reaffirming its strong community foundation while we build for the future,” the statement read.
A key highlight of the partnership is an ambitious infrastructure plan that includes the construction of a modern football stadium in Mashonaland Central Province. The facility is expected to serve as the club’s home ground while also functioning as a hub for youth development and broader community engagement.
The collaboration will also prioritize football development structures, including the establishment of youth academies, grassroots programs, and professional player pathways. Plans are also in place to enhance coaching standards, fitness, and overall technical performance.

AMV has already underlined its commitment through a significant financial injection into the club. The funding is earmarked to clear outstanding debts, stabilize operations, improve player welfare, upgrade training facilities, and strengthen administrative systems.
As part of the restructuring process, the club’s Executive Committee has been revamped to align with the new partnership framework and improve governance.
While the team will continue to operate under the Agama F.C name for the remainder of the 2026 season, a rebrand is scheduled for next year. From 2027, the club will be known as AMV Agama F.C, reflecting the evolving identity and strategic direction of the partnership.
However this is not AMV’s first foray into Zimbabwean football. The company was previously linked to Manica Diamonds , a Mutare-based top-flight side.
That partnership, which also began with ambitions of financial stability and competitive growth, ultimately fell short of expectations and was discontinued.
Although full details of the separation were not publicly detailed, football insiders pointed to governance disputes, unclear control structures, and sustainability challenges as key factors behind the breakdown. The absence of a clearly defined ownership framework reportedly contributed to tensions between stakeholders.
