A lot has been said about Zimdancehall so many critics have buried it, they believe that the genre is no longer there.
Definitely, these critics are correct, Zimdancehall, just like Jamaican dancehall, thrives on artists being on the same riddim like the new riddim in Jamaica where we have Elephant Man, Bennie Man among other great artists.
Surely the Cool Reminder riddim has brought yesteryear memories, the riddim has taken clubs by a strong wave.
Recently, Bodyslam Records announced that they will be launching Bodyslam Riddim 2 and indeed nostalgia has wrapped all Zimdancehall fans.
Bodyslam riddim was produced by Michael Murumbi “PTK” and so many artists, including the late king of Zim dancehall Soul Jah love, Seh Calaz, Killer T, Chats Man, Tocky Vibes, After 8 Boss lady Squanda, Magikal, Shinso man, Ras Pompy among many other artists.
Zimdancehall star, Kelvin Kusikwenyu, popularly known as Killer T, announced the forthcoming riddim on social media.
“Haa Ma1 Boys, PTK is here and Bodyslam riddim part 2 is on its way,” announced the Kukosha Kwechikorobho hitmaker.
Bodyslam Boss Simba Chakare, popularly known as DJ Trouble or Simba Bodyslam, said that riddims promote a culture and Bodyslam part 2 is there to promote the Zimdancehall culture.
“Riddims promote a culture of unity and tolerance and healthy completion among artists. Any artist willing to participate on a Riddim is forced to bring his best lyrical content in order to be outstanding and I believe this will help encourage our artists to put their best foot forward in terms of lyrics and execution thereby bringing growth and excellence to the genre,” said Bodyslam.
Bodyslam added that fans should expect fireworks from the forthcoming riddim.
“Fans can expect a masterpiece, we have delivered before and this time around we will deliver again, growth from the producer and the artists themselves will be witnessed on this part 2 project,” he added.
