Dynamos coach Aristica Cioaba has urged the club’s supporters to remain patient and trust the rebuilding process despite growing frustration over the team’s struggles, particularly the form of striker Ben Sidibe.

The Romanian tactician acknowledged concerns among the Glamour Boys faithful but defended his players, insisting Sidibe has done his best under difficult circumstances and that the focus should now shift towards building a stronger team for the future.

“Fans are not happy with Sidibe, but the supporters don't understand us. He tried his best. The situation now needs waiting,” Cioaba said.

His comments come at a time when pressure has been mounting on the coach following Dynamos’ struggles in front of goal and their early exit from the Chibuku Super Cup at the hands of newly promoted FC Hunters.

Much of the frustration has centred on the decision to allow striker Jairos Kasondo to leave the club on loan to FC Agama, creating room for Burkina Faso forward Sidibe.

Kasondo had scored six goals before his temporary departure and had emerged as one of Dynamos’ leading scorers, while Sidibe has managed just one goal since joining the club during the mid-season transfer window.

Cioaba had previously defended the decision to let Kasondo leave, saying the striker wanted regular playing time.

“I had no choice to keep Kasondo as he is that type of player who says, if I don't play or be on the bench, I then go. He only wants to play; he doesn't want to be on the bench,” Cioaba said during a press conference.

However, the decision has increasingly come under scrutiny as Dynamos have struggled to find the back of the net, with some supporters openly questioning the coach’s recruitment and tactical decisions.

Cioaba, however, believes the current situation should be viewed within the broader context of Dynamos’ plans beyond the current campaign.

He said the club’s executive, management and coaching structures were already working on a plan aimed at assembling a stronger squad capable of challenging consistently at the top.

“What happened in this league, after this we put the plan for the future. Our executive, our manager, our club have very good plan for the future,” he said.

“We like good one, one strong team to continue the good result.”

Cioaba also stressed the importance of recruiting players who understand what Dynamos represents to its supporters, arguing that playing for the Harare giants requires more than just footballing ability.

He said prospective players must understand the passion and expectations surrounding the club before joining.

“Let me talk from the perspective of the players. A player needs to understand the club he is coming into. If you don’t understand the spirit from the supporters, then you cannot play football here,” Cioaba said.

According to the coach, Dynamos supporters expect commitment, competitiveness and a willingness to fight for results, qualities he believes every player joining the club must embrace.

“The supporters like fighting, the supporters like to win the game, the supporters need the best from us. However, the players need to understand the spirit from the supporters,” he said.

Cioaba added that he did not want to single out individual players despite the criticism that has emerged around the squad.

“I don't like mentioning names. And I speak for everybody. Let's wait and see,” he said.

The coach also pointed out that the current squad and technical setup should not necessarily be viewed as the final version of the Dynamos team.

He said the club currently has 20 players in the squad and suggested there could be significant changes after the completion of the league campaign.

“The new manager had finished the league and after he wasn't the same as what he is today,” Cioaba said, hinting at possible changes to the squad and the club’s footballing structure.

The Romanian believes Dynamos remain a big club with the potential to return to the top, but said achieving that would require careful planning and the recruitment of players capable of embracing the demands that come with wearing the blue shirt.

“For me, the message is clear. Dynamos, since I worked [here] for three months, is one of the big clubs. It needs good planning, good selection of people who come and possibly fight for this team,” he said.
