The City of Harare should soon be able to explain what is in the blood-like liquid that started appearing in Mabvuku last week, the communication department has said.
“Our team went on the ground last week and collected samples for testing and we are waiting for results,” said COH spokesperson Mr Innocent Ruwende.
While most local residents are convinced that the blood-like flow is a manifestation of some supernatural happenings, others want evidence based answers of what it could be.
Tafara resident Lewis Jonathan said proper research is needed.
“We had hoped that by now maybe the colour would have been lighter but ummmmm, anyway, we will wait to hear more if investigations are done,” said Jonathan.
Internet research shows that blood-like water flowing from the ground is not a new phenomenon unique to Mabvuku.
The aptly named Blood Falls of Antarctica have long puzzled the world with their bright flow.
Researchers using radar to probe layers into the earth’s surface have since concluded that the source is an underground salt lake with high iron content.
Perhaps it is time for ZimSat-1 to be deployed in order to show the source of the effluence, while labs break it down to inform the residents and the world at large just what it is.
