Diamond Studios responds to Niceboi allegation

Diamond Studios have responded to allegations filed against them by former signed artiste, Sonfree Vunganai, popularly known as Niceboi,  who accused the music production company of  stealing his album.

However, Diamond Studios have responded to the accusations saying the artist in question is misleading the public.

“In response to accusations circulating on social media against Diamond Studios, we have in the recent past issued a statement regarding the album released by one of our signed artistes, Niceboi.

“We want to clarify again that the artiste breached his contract by releasing the album through another studio company without our knowledge or consent.

“The artiste is aware of what happens and what’s legally correct after such a breach. It’s unfortunate that he has chosen the social media route to mislead the public. As a music production company, we take our contracts with artistes very seriously.

“The artiste in question knowingly violated their agreement with us by releasing their album through another studio company, which not only violates our contract but also undermines the trust and relationship between the artiste and our company.

“Niceboi is not doing a favour to the success of such other artists as he is maliciously meddling with their posts that are being promoted by Diamond. The fact that he is failing to handle his own matters should not be affecting everyone.

“The artiste in question has been to our offices with his good advisors and he is aware of the legal way of handling the matter,” Diamond Studios said.

This follows a chain of events where Niceboi relocated from Gweru to Harare after being signed by Diamond Studios.

Niceboi claims the studios are benefitting from his album called Zviroto which he opted to promote through his Facebook page when he didn't receive any royalties.

Niceboi told Zim Now that he lived at Diamond Studio’s premises working as a security guard for a year without working on music and this was after being told that they had no resources to sponsor his music at the time.

“I’m trying to control myself kuti ndisataure but pain and depression inogona kundiuraya better ndingotaura. They claimed my whole album without me receiving any money from the album. They lied to me vakandibisa kuGweru where I have been pushing my music.

“Now that I am in Harare, they dump me for a whole year without recording any music. I moved out and I started working on my album with the help of some well-wishers in the UK, and when I promoted my album they claimed every song,” Niceboi complained through social media.
