Six Shurugwi women were on Friday remanded after pleading guilty to various charges, including indecent assault after they allegedly stripped a woman they suspected to be dating the husband of one of them and struck her privates with a stick.
The six appeared before magistrate Percy Mukumba facing four counts of assault.
The six are Sympathy Toruvanda, 25. Concilia Manyika, 26, Janet Tawera, 40, Getrude Muzengeza, 39, Ennie Jegede, 20, and Nelia Nyamidzi, 44, who is Toruvanda's domestic worker.
A seventh assailant, Joyce Mumanyi, an Agritex Officer, is still at large.
Prosecuting, Tafadzwa Guzette said on Tuesday last week at around 3pm, Ndabaningiwas at Impala Waterworks waiting for her boyfriend.
The accused arrived in a car and Toruvanda confronted Ndabaningi (who is married) asking her why she was having a love affair with her husband.
Manyika grabbed Ndabaningi as the other suspects took turns to assault her with open hands and a wooden stick all over the body.
They stripped her and struck her privates and allegedly robbed her of US$35.
They then bundled her in a car and drove off.
The six are also face indecent assault, robbery and kidnapping charges and pleaded guilty to all charges.
Mukumba remanded the six, who all reside at Sebanga Extension Suburbs, in custody to March 22, and advised them to apply for bail at the High Court.
