The Sports and Recreation Commission has congratulated rising Zimbabwean Judoka Christi-Rose Pretorius who scooped another gold medal at the Algiers Junior African Cup held in Algeria on Friday, March 17.
The championships ran between March 9-12.
In 2022, the 20 year-year-old Judoka was victorious against 2021 silver medalist, Lucy Williams - Anglia Ruskin JC/ JC Osaka - in the +78kg category in the Army Judo.
In 2018, Pretorius was part of the team Zimbabwe at the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina.
Prior, Pretorius had a chance to tour IJF World Judo Tour in Zagreb with the main goal of learning and gaining a lot of experience when competing against better athletes.
Meanwhile, the Netherlands cricket team arrived in Harare yesterday ahead of three ODI matches against the Chevrons set for Harare Sports Club.
