The Matabeleland North Province’s Tsholotsho has been granted town status by government with development projects in line with the resolution being rolled out.
This comes as Tsholotsho Centre is booming with businesses opened by its diaspora community.
Tsholotsho Rural District Council chairperson Esau Siwela said: “The town board status is confirmation of our long-held conviction. We know this will create opportunities for us to grow and to see all service delivery taken to a higher level … We are excited by this government stance.”
The district has a huge diaspora community that is keen to invest in the growth of its own community.
“We are bound to see Tsholotsho grow and achieve its full potential,” said one diaspora development partner while another said this will take Tsholotsho to another level of growth and avail many business opportunities.
