Dynamos fans showed the middle finger to the supporters’ executive yesterday (Sunday) after the team drew nil all with Triangle FC.

Dynamos has in recent years struggled to beat the sugar boys a jinx which has gone for over seven games, including the draw on Sunday.

It is interesting to note that DeMbare have failed to beat the team from the lowveld since July 2017 when they claimed a 2-1 win at Rufaro Stadium.

Believe it or not, it has been six years.

Going into the match, the Dynamos Supporters Association National Executive issued a statement to DeMbare fans to stop “Sunday offerings.”

Sunday offering is the money given to players by Dynamos fans usually after a sterling performance and this has been happening over the years

The directive was received with mixed feelings with some DeMbare faithfuls questioning the decisions, labeling the executive as “overzealous zealots”.

“The above subject matter refers.  It has come to our attention that the ‘Sunday offering’ we give to players after matches in the stadium have the potential to cause divisions in the camp and bringing the brand and name of our sponsor into disrepute.

“Henceforth, we therefore urge all our supporters to stop this practice with immediate effect. Acknowledgement of good performance by our players is good from us supporters but we can use other means behind the scenes and not in stadia.

“We can organise our marshals to be at the team bus after match with boxes which our supporters can drop their offerings. Thereafter, the money can be counted and shared to all players,” reads part of the letter.

However, DeMbare fans ignored this message and mobbed the team bus to give Denver Mukamba the Sunday offering despite him being an unused substitute.

“Our romance with Denver started way back in 2011 we shall continue appreciating him, he is our son and we love him,” Tinashe Chakadza told Zim Now Sports.

Another fan added that when Mukamba did his things at DeMbare, he was still poor.

“When Denver did his magic I was still in High School and I could not afford to appreciate him but now I am financially stable the Executive should let us appreciate talent,” added Farai Kabvure, a staunch DeMbare fan.
