A jealousy husband, allegedly informed that his wife was cheating on him whilst he was in South Africa, came to Zimbabwe and stabbed her.

Achievement Mandishara, 35, appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Court Monday accused of attempted murder.

The complainant in the matter is Shamiso Mbizi, 35, of Old Highfield.

The State, alleges that on May 11, 2023, Mandishara came home from his work place in South Africa, after having a misunderstanding with Mbizi during their phone call conversations.

Mandishara called Shamiso accusing her of infidelity, stating that he was getting information from his informers that she was being dropped off home by different cars belonging to her boyfriends.

This did not go well with Mbizi who told Mandishara that he was getting wrong information and asked him to divorce her if he was no longer comfortable with her and this prompted Mandishara return home.

On May 12, 2023 at around 1900 hours, Mbizi was sleeping on the bed with Mandishara who asked her to sleep facing him and she complied.

Later on Mandishara asked Mbizi whether she wanted to sleep while the light was turned off or on and she told him to switch it off.

Mandishara then stood up on the bed searching in his bag that was on top of the wardrobe. Mbizi asked him what he was looking for and he replied that he was looking for chocolates.

Mandishara then went back to the bed, grabbed Mbizi by the neck and stabbed her with a knife on her back.

Mandishara asked Mbizi to tell him the truth and to reveal all of her boyfriends who used to drop her from work while he was in South Africa.

Mbizi pleaded for mercy, but he further stabbed her with the knife twice on her back threatening to kill her if she did not reveal anything about her boyfriends.

Mandishara further threatened to burn the house and kill her in an inferno. Mbizi further pleaded for forgiveness from Mandishara saying that their children would suffer if they died.

Mandishara released Mbizi who asked him to bandage her wounds with sheets since she was bleeding.

Mandishara then went to hire a taxi to take Mbizi to the clinic after he discovered that she had lost a lot of blood.

She contacted her work-place, informing her workmates about the incident and asked them to book for an emergency doctor since she was seriously bleeding.

Mandishara took Mbizi to Santé 24Hours Clinic in Southerton where she was admitted and treated. The doctor who attended her then advised her workmates to contact her relatives for them to file a police report.

Mandishara then went home where he burnt all the blood-stained sheets and was found burning the sheets by Mbizi's mother.

The matter was reported at ZRP Machipisa leading to the arrest Mandishara.

Mandishara was denied bail and ordered to appear in court on May 29.
