Five Zimbabwean institutions of higher learning have signed agreements on cooperation with Brest State Technical University.
The university's press service announced the recent development in which Harare Institute of Technology, Chinhoyi University of Technology, Lupane State University, Midlands State University and the University of Zimbabwe signed a number of to implement joint educational programs with Brest State Technical University.
“We continue to develop cooperation in the areas outlined by our heads of state. We are interested in the fields of expertise where Belarus and Zimbabwe have much in common. We want to cooperate in technology, science, innovation. Belarus has significant experience in this. We have abundant mineral resources, human potential, we strive for technological independence and industrialization. In this regard, we are very interested in Belarus, because it is a leader in terms of education quality,” said Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Amon Murwira who led the delegation to Belarus.
“I think the best practices of our colleagues will be useful to us. We believe that our scientists can collaborate in Industry 4.0, digital industry, digital agriculture, IT, creation of various engineering systems. Our colleagues were very receptive to our proposals,” said Rector of Brest State Technical University Sergei Kasperovich. He added that cooperation can be promoted in all areas where Brest excels.
Three students from Zimbabwe are currently studying at Brest State Technical University.
“This is just the beginning. We hope that the number of students will increase manifold. We have seen the interest in this. We are ready to offer all the necessary conditions for Zimbabwean students,” said Sergei Kasperovich.
The parties discussed their educational institutions, possible joint programs and plans.
The representatives of Zimbabwe praised the high level of engineering training at Brest State Technical University.
