Zimbabwean football continue to nose dive as the Sports and Recreation Commission is set to close the giant National Sports Stadium, Zim Now has learnt.
Information gathered by this publication indicate that the Gerald Mlothswa-led Commission will stamp authority on the Stadium.
The Stadium, which was approved by the FIB to the surprise of many, has been operating without running water and the ablution facilities are just a health time bomb.
The facility also houses offices for Dynamos FC, the SRC and the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board, among other institutions.
The ground has been hosting at least six premiership matches every weekend, which has left the pitch in a sorry state.
“The SRC is mooting a move to close NSS but they have a headache on where the teams which are using the pitch as the home ground will play.
“This means that there will be a serious crisis for the Premier Soccer League clubs,” a source at the SRC said.
